Arris 8.x will work on Windows 7 you just have to put the ARRIS directory on the main drive (C drive) not in Program Files. Program Files puts on too many restrictions and won’t let you work.

Older versions Arris won't work on any Windows 7, right? You'll need an adaptor for that! Like upgrade Arris

So y'all are saying that instead of seeking some adaptor, I can simply get a modern key that will fit my new laptop computer AND work with my older Arris 80? So I just need to save for the 50 to 100$ to get that newer key?

Yes. A USB port key has been available for many years to replace the older style parallel port key.
To swap out your old style key for the new style, contact Sigma Design at 318.449.9900. There
      is a cost.

Hello; I just bought my first computer at age 37. For years, I've used "Arris 80" on the computer at work.
I have no intention of buying a newer or latest version of Arris because I'd rather buy groceries and eat.

My boss has an extra copy of Arris 80; but there is no hole in my new laptop in which the old Arris key would fit.
Does there exist some sort of adaptor for it?
