Subject: Re: [arriscad] Right-Click ability on Toolbar buttons
Jeff,
The User Toolbar system for ARRIS 9.4 and previous does not allow for right click commands. The right click is used to bring up the Setup menu for the toolbar box in order to add or edit a command.
The good news is that for ARRIS 9.5, the User Toolbar system has been completely rewritten and overhauled. User Toolbars will be much easier to create and manage. The new system features a lot more functionality and flexibility with toolbars including:
The new system has better User Toolbar management by having each toolbar as it's own file on the disk. The file will contain all data about the toolbar including the name and menu used, number of menu boxes on the toolbar, and data about the display and commands assigned to each box.
A new User Toolbar Manager will allow you to easily create, manage, and edit toolbars.
Several different default toolbar menus may be used to create your toolbars, featuring different numbers and sizes of boxes - or you can create your own. Unlike previous versions the menu is parameter of the toolbar rather than only 1 menu available for all toolbars.
User defined commands may be assigned to both Left Click and Right Click for each box on the toolbar.
You can still assign a command to a toolbar using the "Assign To Toolbar" function on the HELP menu.
The appearance of each box on the toolbar will be more user customizable including the use of color. Both text and RI icons are still supported.
By following a naming convention, your custom User Toolbar will load on ARRIS startup.
By following a naming convention you can have multiple User Toolbars that you can scroll through using the mouse scroll wheel.
The new User Toolbar system will make any and all old user toolbar files obsolete. There is an import function in the new User Toolbar Manager which will allow you to create a new toolbar starting with the commands on an old one.
